No. 65 - September 15th 2006Winetime 65 Wow, what a great day last Saturday was. Went off virtually without a hitch. The food was terrific and the wines, well, I definitely had fun trying to taste them all after all the masses had left that evening. The crowd was just a smidge down from last year, but all that were there had an absolute ball and already looking forward to next year…. WINE TASTINGS Always good to catch up with Michael from Wingara, and he will be in this week with Deakin Estate range at the Mildura store. The regular range will be there on tasting so if you havn't already tried them do so. If you have came and have a change of scenery from the daily grind and have a chat to Michael over a nice complementary glass of wine….
RED CLIFFS WINE TASTINGS To help see of the last of the cold weather (hopefully), this week for something of a different stroke, we will have Kaye with the Angoves and their Stones range of ginger wine drinks on show. From the ever popular Stones Green Ginger Wine to their pre-mix alcoholic ginger beer it will all be there. Something for the other hand also, to help celebrate the start of the warm weather. Mt Riley's sparkling Savignon Blanc, one of my personal favourites, and was a hit at the wine expo and is a MUST tasting. We have a McLaren Vale red and a nice Long Row Chardonnay on hand also. So quite the party out at Red Cliffs, it promises to be an interesting evening of tastings from 4pm till 7pm in the store.

FISHERS FINE WINES EXPO 2006 First a big thankyou to all of you that attended the Expo, without your interest in such events they would not happen at all, so again thankyou all. If you missed it, be sure to make it next year, it will be bigger and better I'm sure. All the stands there were more than impressed with the day, gaining invaluable feedback about their products, And havin Still there is plenty of expo stock in the stores, so if you did try something that you liked, get down to your local and take advantage of the special expo prices. If they don't have there is no problem with getting you some in. Also, if you have any feedback about the day, be sure to drop us a line at winetime@fishers.com.au . Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, negative or positive, help make it better for next year.
The man behind it all, Mr Ross Griffith. Good job Ross….
Zilzie was popular as ever. Congrats to them as well, recently winning two trophies for the 2004 Zilzie premium Viognier at the “Decanter World Wide Awards” show in the UK .
A couple of enthusiasts, enjoying the festivities.
Richard a very warm reception from the punters with his Rising Dust label.
Even the kids were getting in on the act. And yes that is chocolate milk, not vino….
Now this is what I like to see, no-one without a glass in there hand.
The Nestle' stand was a huge hit with young and old….
The beer stands had quite the following…. Stay tuned for more photos in the next edition.
