About Fishers Merbein...
Located on the Victoria-NSW border near Mildura, about 570km north-west of Melbourne on the banks of the mighty Murray River, Merbein is at the heart of the Sunraysia Irrigation District. Merbein is a small community town with a population of around 2,000.
Fishers have owned and run the Supermarket since 1911 but it has not been without problems along the way. Fishers Merbein burnt to the ground in 1940 and and again 33 years later in 1973. It has since been rebuilt and with the addition of new car parking and drive thru bottle shop Fishers Merbein has never looked better.
At the rear of the building is the Fishers Head Office and Warehouse. This year (2006) Merbein is receiving an extension which will see a bigger Supermarket which will range a greater array of products for our loyal and valued customers...
