Vol 1, No. 20 - January 2005!
2005 !!!Bump! Well not so much as a bump but a THUD really, all those extra kilos you know. Yep and it hurt, the new year is always like that mentally and physically. And for me throw my birthday and wedding anniversary into the middle of it all and I’m ready for the Betty Ford Clinic, detox program for two thanks! How about your new years resolutions, if you fail to plan you plan to fail, and that’s what they’re all about, implementing a new plan. My resolutions go something like this, learn more than 7 chords on the guitar and become a ROCK GOD! Play more golf, drink more good wine and not so much cheap stuff, buy presents for my wife more often (that’s won me 10 points at least!) and lose 5kg. That should be easy! How bout you? Did you set some achievable goals or are you a pie in the sky dreamer type resolution setter. Our wine clubs calendar of events is already shaping up to be fabulous fun. Some of the events we have in the pipe line; a fun wine blending night, more frolicking fun filled tours, interesting tastings of spirits, beers and wine, beer dinner, wine dinners, you name it we’ll probably be doing it! Stay tuned eager member. PS just had a chat with a beer rep, Beer and Blues festival 9th April and diary in the 8th April for a beer dinner, more info to follow. TastingThis week just for something really different we will taste Neds Red the locally made red wine spritzer that’s perfect for summer . So get on down Friday arvo between 4.30 and 7.30pm. We have a couple of winners over the Xmas/ new years holidays, they are Carol Pearce and Sandi Lovell congrats girls you have each won a magnum of Jacobs Creek Bubbly. Come in to pick it up any time your ready. DrunkYeah, too much, my liver hurts! So I’ll just recap my festive season indulgences whilst I sip a berocca! Trentham Ruby, a lovely sparkling burgundy with great balance, depth and a long finish probably the highlight of Xmas day. Sir James 2001 PNC, a very classy, complex and soft fizz. Zilzie Rose 04, I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, one of the best Rose I’ve tried, once the cap is unscrewed its chances of survival are very slim. Rumba (cheap Malibu sub) with sweetened pineapple juice and a splash of cheap fizz on ice in a tall glass, YUMMY. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, aahhh the memories!
