What a great Wine Expo !

What a great day we all had last Saturday, at the Fishers Fine Wine Expo. With close to 400 people in attendance and a huge number of wines to slurp it was sure a memorable (to some!) occasion. The quality of wines on show and not to forget the yummy food really added up to be one great day out. Our official tasters were taking the tastings seriously to pick the top wines of the Expo, with one keen taster even getting a manicure especially for the event!! The tasters’ dozen of the day went something like this...

My favorites of the day were the Jamiesons Run Winemakers Reserve Cab Shiraz, Petaluma Chardonnay, Grant Burge Fizz and The Charles Cimicky Trumps Grenache Shiraz (I just love a good Barossa Grenache).

Of course all of the above wines are still available at our stores at special expo prices so don’t miss out on drinking some of the best wines in the country.

Congrats to ZILZIE

Zilzie’s delicious 2004 Viognier has just picked up a gold medal. It won Best in class at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition in London. Referred to by the judges as “Deliciously long with tropical fruit notes all the way”.

It’s a wine that I have loved since my first taste and I’m very happy seeing it pick up this huge gong, and at only $12.50 its bound to fly out the door.

Recycle your Wine 6 Packs

I know that I’m guilty of this too, but if you have any of the six pack wine carriers at home please bring them in so we can reuse them. I’m sure that someone out there has the motherload of wine carriers in their home, if so… PLEASE RECYCLE! There will be rewards for the most returned!!

Tasting

Mulcra Estate

The two wines from Mulcra both got a good review in James Hallidays 2005 Wine Companion and with a big price drop they are well worth having a look at. So come on down this Friday for a taste and as usual we have a great prize for some lucky taster with a two pack of Mulcra Estate wines. See you here between 4.30 and 7pm.

Last weeks winner of a bottle of Salt Pan Shiraz from The Murray Darling Collection was John Braniff, congrats mate, pick up your bottle next time your in.
