No. 49 - Feb 2006

Well, I hope everybody received lots of flowers, chocolates and kisses for Valentines Day. Then washed it all down with a nice bottle of bubbly over a nice dinner, whipped up by your respective halves. If you were so lucky…..

I hope everyone enjoyed last week's tastings. Good to see people still producing new wines in this very wine competitive day and age. And they tasted great…

COOPERS SALE

You can't beat Coopers for Australian tradition and purity. Each beer is fermented in its own bottle, making each one special. This is evident by the small amounts of sediment in the bottle. Coopers have been brewing since 1862, utilising their all natural ingredients with no preservatives to give them the edge over their competitors mass produced product. With Coopers Brewery posting record breaking sales this summer, we decided to jump on the sales bandwagon and offer these two products at special prices this week.

One of the newest member's to the Coopers beer family is the Coopers Mid Ale, which has taken the number two spot in the top mid strength sales in South Australia recently. And the one that started it all, Coopers Sparkling Ale. Both will be available at all stores at a terrific sale price.

Coopers Mild Ale

This ale is the product of brewing with a selection of barley and wheat malt, and with no added sugar. This traditional brewing approach provides the smooth malt character which is balanced by a triple hopping of the brew with Pride of Ringwood and Saaz hops. The brew has fermented similarly to its stablemates Pale and Sparkling Ale, with the customary secondary fermentation in the bottle and can. Alc/Vol 3.5%

$29.99 per slab.

Sparkling Ale

The ale by which all others should be measured. With its famous cloudy sediment and its distinctive balance of malt, hops and fruity characters, the old 'Red Label' is a tasty slice of Coopers history.

Little has changed since Thomas Cooper produced his first batch of Coopers Sparkling Ale in 1862. It's still brewed naturally using the century old top fermentation method and it still tastes great!

Sparkling Ale contains no additives or preservatives.

5.8% Alc/Vol

$39.99 per slab.

Well that's it for another week. All the best for those running in the Baton Relay. I hope the rest of you don't get caught in the traffic delays, I think I might run my own relay to work on Friday to avoid traffic.

Enjoy the rest of the week everybody and see you shortly.
