No. 51 - March 2006Winetime 51 I attended the Rock at the Lock on the weekend, an enjoyable time was had by all. Some exceptional young talented local bands were present along with some larger Melbourne acts and it was very relaxing by the river listening to some good hearty rock music. The Penfolds tastings went exceptionally well, a lot of people showing up to get a taste and sniff of the new vintage release. Again, it seems that Penfolds have done exceptionally well with this vintage as they have done with previous ones.
Coopers Sale !!! You can't beat Coopers for Australian tradition and purity. Each beer is fermented in its own bottle, making each one special. This is evident by the small amounts of sediment in the bottle. Coopers have been brewing since 1862, utilising their all natural ingredients with no preservatives to give them the edge over their competitors mass produced product. With Coopers Brewery posting record breaking sales this summer, we decided to jump on the sales bandwagon and offer these two products at special prices this week. One of the newest member's to the Coopers beer family is the Coopers Mid Ale, which has taken the number two spot in the top mid strength sales in South Australia recently. And the one that started it all, Coopers Sparkling Ale. Both will be available at all stores at a terrific sale price for the next three weeks.
Wine Tastings This week we have the good people from Mulcra Estate with us. Again at the normal time of 4pm to 7pm, Friday night. So if you haven't already tried these wines, my suggestion is to come and tantalise your taste buds with an exceptional local wine. Mulcra Estate Wines prides itself on attention to detail and a commitment to five star quality wines. The owners of Mulcra Estate Wines, the Andriske family, have been growing wine grapes in Australia since 1849, and in Mildura. In this fast paced world of mechanisation, it is comforting to know that our vines are hand pruned, our grapes hand picked, and gently whole bunch pressed, to achieve the best juice quality. Our wines are patiently fermented in French Oak for up to twelve months which brings terrific barrel ferment characters, that are not only enjoyable now, but will develop over time.
