With winter creeping up on us at an astonishing rate, we have some terrific ideas to keep you warm on the outside and the inside.

Some terrific tastings this week again, more new wine news and another member of the team being privileged with the adornment of the tastings hat.

WINE TASTINGS

We've been having a lot of small boutique wines on tastings lately, so for a change we thought we would get one of the big bangers of the wine industry. Angove's has been producing premium wines since 1910. And a history that spans almost a decade. Angove's is not only renowned locally but all over the world. So this is a perfect opportunity to try some of Australia 's most distinctive wines.

Tastings are on at the usual time of 4pm till 7pm, at the Deakin Ave store, at the tastings area. Also coming soon, the Wine Club wine tastings will be expanding to the Red Cliffs Fishers store as well. So watch this space….

THE TASTINGS HAT

This week we are a bit short of material for the tastings hat segment this week, so we are just going to reiterate the fact that you too can own your own tastings hat in your own home. Now available, until stocks last, at any Fishers store with the purchase of two bottles or two six packs of Canadian Club Whisky. So if you want to enhance your tastebuds and become professional tasters like the Fishers Liquor department crew, then get your own.

NEW WINES

This one is most definitely not a new wine but is even more exciting. Recently acquired here at Fishers is the new Penfolds Grange vintage. So for your chance to own one of Australia 's most renowned red wines, contact Ross at Deakin or Anthony at Red Cliffs bottle shops to arrange your own bottle. Other recent back vintages are available at these stores but in very very limited numbers. All vintages are at the one low price of $399.95. A good price in anyone's book. Considering that the later vintages are all terrific examples of this Australian icon.
